How to use instruments[]
- To begin playing an instrument hold the item in your hand, preferably have the instrument in your 9th slot, and right click!
- Press any number from 1-8 in your hotbar to begin playing notes. The hotbar bar default back to the 9th slot after playing a note.
- To play a sharp, shift whilst pressing the note you'd like. To go up an octave, left click with the instrument. To go back down an octave, left click again.
- To stop playing an instrument, right click again with the instrument.
Additional Notes: You must not have an item in your offhand or you wont be able to start/stop playing your instrument.
Playing sheet music with friends[]
- To play at the same time as friends, type /music sync player.
- Once they accept your request, you will automatically play at the same time once you both right click.
- Hold an instrument in your mainhand and the sheet music in your offhand, then right click.
- You will remain synced until you do /music unsync.
Writing sheet music[]
Buy sheet music from /shop! Notation:
- c d e f g a b C are lower register notes, C D E F G A B ## are higher register.
- The line above is in order of lowest pitch to highest, with ## being high high C.
- Add # after a note (e.g. a#) to play a half step up.
- Separate each note with a space.
- Dots . represent rests.
- Create chords by separating the notes with commas like C,E,G.
- Sign the book to make it playable, use /music edit to edit the book again if needed.
- Hold an instrument in your mainhand and the sheet music in your offhand, then right click.
